Vision

Implementation of diagnostic strategies to improve animal care

Concept

Development of needs-based tests tailored to clinical requirements

Product Forge

Provision of fast, cost-effective & species-specific in-vitro diagnostics

Aims & Activities

The aim is to involve veterinary users from laboratories, clinics and practices in the planned R&D projects in order to identify their needs at an early stage, to develop customer-oriented products and thus to market the innovations in the sense of a one-stop shops. The applications cover the entire home, utility and wildlife diagnostics: i.e. the areas of screening, physiological and genetic profiles, performance diagnostics, pathogen evidence, food safety, reproductive medicine and water analysis.

In order to advance diagnostic solutions for challenges of global importance such as antibiotic resistance, the network is increasingly focusing on an international network of partners. The global cooperation also aims to increase the innovation potential of the participating companies.

The VetDx network brings in excellent know-how and diverse competences: these range from the production and supply of antibodies, antigens, enzymes and culture media, the provision of microfluidic disposable systems and coating services to the development of lateral flow, FPIA, point-of-care, ELISA and RIA tests, chip- and biosensor-based assays, and various nucleic acid and protein-based array technologies. The portfolio also includes the production of immunoaffinity columns and aptamer development. In addition, there are specific competences in the areas of high-throughput production, IT and software-based analytics, biostatistics and medical law.

The network also offers its partners access to biomaterials, insight into an exclusive expert opinion on the clear presentation of the current legal framework including recommendations for action, comprehensive training courses as well as partnering events and the participation in trade fairs. In addition, we actively support the application for funding under the ZIM program.
